Does Your Wedding Makeup Trial Happen Before or After Booking Your Artist?

Entering the world of beauty preparations for your special event, you're bound to ask: will I have a makeup trial before or after booking my makeup artist? Seeking to align your vision with reality, understanding industry norms can be incredibly helpful.

The Typical Beauty Process

It's industry practice to hold makeup trials post-booking. With over a decade of experience, Kayla Walters, a seasoned Hair and Makeup Artist (HMUA), notes that established companies operate similarly due to high demand and scheduling constraints. The inability to "hold your date" open is a common reason why trials are reserved for clients who have already booked their services.

Considerations for Your Makeup Trial

Research is Key

The idea of a makeup trial isn't just to "try out" an artist but to fine-tune the look you've already agreed upon. Before even considering a trial, it's essential to do your homework. Read reviews, scour social pages, and deeply examine the artist's portfolio. Does their style match what you envision for your event? Are you captivated by their previous work? These aspects build a trust foundation.

Booking Fee and Expectations

Readers often question whether they should expect to pay for a trial. Yes, paying for a makeup trial is a standard practice. Consider it an investment in ensuring your event look achieves perfection.

Scheduling the Trial

How far in advance should you book a makeup trial? It's recommended to schedule it weeks, or even months before the event to avoid any timing issues and to allow for potential tweaks or changes.

The Trial Session

During the session, go in with ideas yet remain open to professional input. Trials usually involve discussing and experimenting with looks that suit your face shape, skin tone, and the event's theme.

A makeup trial typically runs for one to two hours, depending on the complexity of the look. It's ample time to make informed decisions about whether adjustments are needed.

Less Than Perfect?

Worried about dissatisfaction? It happens. If the trial doesn't meet your expectations, have an honest discussion with the artist. It's their job to ensure you leave feeling confident and beautiful for your big day.

Final Touches

Remember, the makeup trial is a critical step in achieving your dream look. With the right preparation and open communication with your artist, you'll be well on your way to a flawless event presence. When you're satisfied with an artist's work and have the assurance that they comprehend and can execute your vision, that's when you know you've made the right choice.

FAQs

  • Is a makeup trial usually paid?

Yes, it's common to pay for a professional makeup trial.

  • When should I book my trial?

Schedule your trial several weeks to months ahead of your event.

  • What to expect during the trial?

A collaborative process where ideas are tried and adjustments are made.

  • Makeup ideas or artist's discretion?

Come prepared with concepts but be open to professional guidance.

  • Duration of a trial?

One to two hours, generally speaking.

  • Unhappy with the trial?

Communicate openly for adjustments or consider looking for another artist.

With a blend of personal preparation and professional expertise, your makeup trial is the first step towards ensuring beauty perfection on your memorable day.

Live Wedding Painter: A Unique Addition to Your Special Day

When it comes to planning the perfect wedding, couples are consistently on the lookout for unique and memorable touches that will elevate their celebration into an unforgettable event. In recent years, live wedding painting has emerged as a distinctive and cherished addition to the nuptial experience, providing couples with more than just photographs to remember their special day. This in-depth guide explores the impact of a live wedding painter and provides the insight you need as you weigh this delightful addition to your wedding planning checklist.

Benefits of Having a Live Wedding Painter

Capturing Moments in Real-Time

One of the most compelling reasons to have a live wedding painter is the ability to capture the essence and energy of your wedding in an original, real-time painting. Unlike traditional photography, a live wedding painting grows with the event, reflecting not only the visual beauty but also the emotions and interactions that make your day unique. These artworks become a cherished keepsake, a personal heirloom that can be passed down through generations.

Unique and Personalized Artwork

The result is a piece of art that is entirely unique to your celebration, representing the distinct decor, venue, and atmosphere created on that day. It's a profound and personalized memento that is sure to stand the test of time and continue to hold sentimental value. This bespoke art also gives you the freedom to depict exactly what matters most to you, whether it's the first dance, the exchange of vows, or a special moment shared with loved ones.

Entertainment Value

In addition to the keepsake, having a live wedding painter can add a layer of entertainment that guests will enjoy. Watching an artist transform a blank canvas into a beautiful depiction of the evening can be mesmerizing. The process has a way of drawing guests in, providing a conversational focal point and a sense of inclusion as your loved ones become part of the art-making experience.

Interactive Guest Experience

The interactive nature of live painting means your loved ones can watch as their presence is captured in the canvas, creating a shared experience that's tangible and lasting. You'll find that guests often ask to take a closer look at the work in progress, sharing in the excitement of its evolution. It's an opportunity for your community to become a part of the history they're helping to create.

Considerations Before Hiring a Live Wedding Painter

Budget

Budget is a significant consideration when planning a wedding, and live event artists require a financial investment beyond the typical photography and videography services. Couples should weigh the costs against the value they place on art and aesthetic remnants of their big day. Some painters offer different package options that can suit various budgets.

Style Compatibility

It's crucial to find a painter whose style resonates with you. Take the time to review the portfolio of potential artists to determine if their aesthetic aligns with the vision you have for your wedding art. Art is deeply personal, and finding an artist whose work moves you will ensure satisfaction with the finished product.

Logistics and Space

A live wedding painter will need an appropriate corner or area to set up their supplies. Consideration must be given to the wedding venue's floor plan and the flow of the event to ensure the artist has a clear vantage point and guests have easy access to view the painting without distractions.

Communication with the Painter

Effective communication with your live wedding painter is key to ensuring that the final piece encapsulates your expectations. Provide the artist with as much detail about your event and any must-have imagery or themes to ensure they can plan their work accordingly. A detailed contract outlining deliverables, timelines, and any rights to the artwork is advisable.

Real-Life Testimonials

Some of the best arguments for including a live wedding painter at your ceremony and reception come from those who have experienced it. Here are a few quotes from couples who decided to incorporate live painting into their celebrations:

  • "The live wedding painting is the centerpiece of our home. Every brushstroke reminds us of our day, bringing back all the emotions we felt in that very moment" — Samantha and Tim

  • "Our guests haven't stopped talking about the live painter! It added such a fun element and gave us a piece of art we cherish" — Lisa and Michael

  • "We weren't sure about the cost, but it was worth every penny. Our live painting is something we absolutely love showing off to friends and family" — Danielle and Mark

My recommendations

Leveraging my experience in the wedding industry, I have identified three artists who consistently bring beauty and joy to couples' big days:

Elyse @Estokescreations

Elyse Stokes is renowned for her romantic depictions and has a versatile style that captures the vibrancy of any wedding. Her ability to work with a wide color palette and choice of backgrounds makes her an artist whose piece can fit into any home design seamlessly.

Nicolette @nicmartin_event

Nicolette Martin specializes in the intricate details of wedding scenes, with customer reviews raving about her ability to bring out the emotion and movement in each painting.

Abby Lynne @abbylynneartist

Abby Lynne's work focuses on bold and beautiful strokes that encapsulate the joy and energy of the special day. Couples who want a more contemporary piece as a reminder of their wedding often choose Abby for her vibrant and celebratory works.

Conclusion

A live wedding painter is more than just an artist; they are a storyteller who can convey the magic of your wedding in a medium that speaks to the heart. With benefits ranging from a customized artwork to heightened entertainment value, the consideration of a live wedding painter adds depth to your planning process. With the testimonials of those who have experienced it and the expert recommendations, the prospect of having a live wedding painter at your celebration is one that should be explored by any couple keen to infuse their special day with an air of timelessness and originality.

Is Wedding Planning Supposed to Be Fun?

The question may come as a surprise — is wedding planning supposed to be fun? After all, every rom-com and bridal magazine seem to paint it in a light of sheer joy and dreamy decision-making. But if you're an engaged couple in the midst of organizing your big day, you might find yourselves facing a much less glamorous truth.

In this blog post, we'll explore the realities of wedding planning and offer some insights into how you can rediscover the fun amidst the not-so-fun tasks.

The Fantasy vs. The Reality

Blissful Beginnings

At first glance, wedding planning brims with excitement. Tasting cakes, choosing a beautiful venue, and finding that perfect dress—it all seems like the fun parts of planning should outweigh the stressful ones. And they can, but an important thing to remember is that it's okay if not every aspect thrills you.

The Nitty-Gritty

Behind the scenes lies a world of budgets, logistics, and endless decision-making. Negotiating with vendors, balancing guest lists, and making contingency plans for bad weather don't exactly scream 'good times'. The truth is, it's work—hard work—and sometimes it's entirely acceptable to not find it fun.

How to Keep the Joy Alive

Despite the challenges, here are some strategies to help you add a pinch of enjoyment back into the planning process:

Delegate the Details

You don't have to do it all alone. Friends, family, and professional wedding planners can take some of the load off your shoulders. By delegating tasks, you can focus more on the parts of planning that you find enjoyable.

Date Night Decisions

Turn some of the planning aspects into date nights. Whether it's a quiet evening browsing through music playlists or a day out scouting locations, find ways to incorporate quality time with your partner.

Celebrate Small Wins

Every task checked off the list is an accomplishment. Celebrate these small milestones as a couple—perhaps with a glass of wine or a mini-date post decision-making.

Remember What It's All About

When things get overwhelming, pause and remind each other that the wedding is ultimately about your love and commitment. Shifting perspective can lessen the stress and bring back the fun.

Personalize the Process

Make the planning process your own. If traditional wedding elements don't excite you, switch them up! Your wedding should reflect your personalities, so feel free to infuse it with what you both love.

Conclusion

In essence, wedding planning can be fun, but it's not all fun—and that's perfectly normal. Allow yourself to feel stressed or frustrated without feeling guilty. Ups and downs are part of the process, but with the tips outlined above, you can sprinkle in moments of joy and excitement as you work towards creating the wedding day you've always imagined.

Remember, each couple's experience is unique, and there's no right way to feel about wedding planning. Acknowledge the tough parts, make space for joy, and don't lose sight of the bigger picture—it all leads to one of the most unforgettable days of your lives.

---

And when the planning is done, and your special day unfolds just as you hoped, you’ll look back on this time not just with relief, but also with precious memories of the fun parts that peeked through the chaos. After all, the best adventures usually have a bit of both!

Your wedding day is filled with moments that you'll want to remember forever. Allow us to bring your love story to life with our wedding videography services. We specialize in capturing the essence of your special day, ensuring every laugh, tear, and dance is immortalized. Choosing Between Elopement and Micro Wedding: A Guide for Modern Couples

The wedding industry has transformed dramatically over the years, aligning itself with the evolving desires and realities of modern couples. Whereas the grand soirée was once the unrivaled apex for most, today's brides and grooms-to-be are increasingly drawn to the intimacy of elopements and the personalized charm of micro weddings.

The Elopement Movement

Once upon a time, elopements were synonymous with secrecy and haste, a flight from societal norms and familial expectations. However, today's elopements have undergone a renaissance of sorts, becoming a powerful statement of intimacy, individuality, and the unfettered celebration of love.

The Allure of the Secretive Ceremony

In choosing to elope, couples are often drawn to the romantic notion of a secluded ceremony, one that bonds them amidst the natural world, far from the gaze and opinions of others.

Why Elope?

The essence of an elopement lies in the liberation from wedding planning pressures, offering couples the purest form of exchange against a backdrop that holds particular significance for them.

Pros of Elopement

  • Focused connection between partners

  • Intensity of the moment suits some couples' personalities

  • Can often be more cost-effective

Cons of Elopement

  • Limited or no guest list

  • Potential family and friend disappointment

  • Sacrifices a traditional celebration

The Micro Wedding Phenomenon

A micro wedding, on the other hand, maintains a delicate balance between scaled-down affair and traditional celebration. It is a manifestation of quality over quantity, where each element, from the vows to the venue, is curated with purpose.

The Intimate Affair

Micro weddings echo the sentiment of a traditional wedding but with a significantly smaller guest list, akin to a family gathering or a close friends' reunion.

The Micro Wedding in Detail

With a guest count typically restricted to 20 or fewer, micro weddings allow for a more personalized and less formal ambiance, where every detail can be a bespoke reflection of the couple's shared vision.

Pros of Micro Weddings

  • Greater focus on personal details

  • Chance to spend quality time with every guest

  • Can still feel like a traditional "big day"

Cons of Micro Weddings

  • Selecting a very limited guest list can be challenging

  • Certain guests may feel excluded

  • Financial savings aren't as substantial as with elopement

Comparative Analysis

When pondering elopement versus micro wedding, it's essential to weigh each option against a series of factors that pertain to not just the day itself, but the overarching values held by the couple.

Financial Considerations

Elopements usually come with a smaller price tag due to fewer vendors and often no venue cost. Micro weddings, while scaled-back, may still incur typical wedding expenses.

The Dollar Sign

Budget often dictates choice, and it's important for couples to evaluate what type of celebration their finances can truly support.

Emotional Significance

The emotional resonance of a wedding day is largely individual, but elopements and micro weddings offer distinct experiences which can resonate on varying levels.

For the Love of It

Some couples find the raw and unfiltered nature of an elopement's intimacy irresistible, while others may seek the collective affirmation and supportive atmosphere of a micro wedding.

Flexibility and Intimacy

Both elopements and micro weddings offer greater flexibility, with the added bonus of sharing the day with a select number of treasured allies.

Who's Invited?

The guest list plays a pivotal role, influencing the atmosphere and, ultimately, the overall significance of the day.

Decision-Making Factors

In the end, the choice between elopement and micro wedding should hinge on factors that align with a couple's identity and vision.

Personal Preferences

Understanding what truly resonates with both partners when it comes to the wedding can guide the decision-making process.

Your Vision, Your Choice

It's crucial for a couple to communicate openly and honestly about their wants and needs, as this will shape the essence of their chosen celebration type.

Guest Involvement

Considering the impact on friends and family is vital, whether opting for an elopement with no guests or a micro wedding with a limited group.

The People You Love

The couple must balance their desire for intimacy with the potential desires and expectations of those who hold a special place in their hearts.

Long-Term Memories & Experiences

Envisioning the day-to-day accounts years down the line can highlight which type of celebration promises the most joy and fulfillment in the long run.

A Day to Remember

Reflecting on the day's narratives, from the vows to the celebrations, can guide couples in selecting the type of affair that will become a treasured part of their story.

Conclusion

Choosing between elopement and micro wedding is a deeply personal decision, one which should reflect the unique narrative and love story of the couple involved. While the allure of both modes of celebration is compelling, it is the intimate understanding of shared values that will steer modern lovers towards the celebration that best encapsulates their union.

The key takeaway is not to be swayed by convention or trends, but to be guided instead by the resonance and significance each option offers. Whichever path the couple chooses, it is the authenticity and spirit of adventure in following their hearts that will make their wedding day truly special and memorable.

In the end, it's all about choosing the kind of love story you want to tell. Whether it involves just the two of you on a mountaintop or twenty of your closest friends and family in a quaint garden, make it your own. After all, love is anything but one-size-fits-all.

Long Engagement Wedding Planning Guide for Type A Brides

Congratulations on your engagement! If you're a meticulous bride-to-be with a long engagement ahead of you, you know that the abundance of time you have can be a double-edged sword. On one hand, it grants you the luxury to meticulously plan each detail; on the other, it can lead to decision fatigue and worries about missing the mark with your plans. This comprehensive guide is tailored for the Type A personalities who are in it for the long planning haul. Here's how you can turn your extended engagement into an opportunity to create the wedding day of your dreams, without the anxiety.

Key Planning Priorities

With the date in the distant future, your first instinct might be to pace yourself. However, setting up a timeline and establishing priorities is crucial in ensuring a smooth planning process. It's never too early to initiate your wedding to-do list, and here's where to start.

Maximize on Venue Insights: With your venue secured, tap into their pool of resources. Venues often have preferred or familiar vendors who understand the space's logistics and can tailor services accordingly.

Create Your Big Day Vision: Even though details may change over time, having a clear vision will guide you in the long run. Start by envisioning your ideal wedding day and the emotions you want to evoke.

Early Booking: Nail down essential vendors first, typically a year or more in advance. These include your photographer, videographer, caterer, and entertainment. For a Type A planner, having these cornerstones locked can provide peace of mind.

Vendor Selection Timeline

Begin with the vendors that are the toughest to schedule and usually the most in-demand. Here's a detailed look at when to engage each vendor:

Photographer and Videographer: Reserve their services as soon as possible, as they are often booked one to two years in advance for popular dates.

Florist and Decorator: If you have specific floral preferences or complex decor designs, booking one year ahead should suffice.

Caterer and Cake: Approximately a year before your event, especially if your wedding falls in a peak season or popular month.

Entertainment: DJs and bands are often secured about a year ahead for standard 8-hour events. For longer events or high-demand artists, add a couple of months.

Hair and Makeup: Six to nine months before for large bridal parties or destination event needs.

Of course if you can book ahead of time it may be helpful in securing your dream vendors, but there are lots of vendors to choose from so look at client testimonials and with time see if you can find any couples who have used the services before.

Potential Interest in a Planning Service

If you find that the planning is taking a toll, a professional planner can be a game-changer. They can help you with everything from vendor coordination to keeping your budget in check.

Consider A La Carte Planners: For brides who need help with specific elements rather than full-scale planning, these services can be a cost-effective solution.

Month-of or Day-of Coordinators: These planners step in towards the end of the planning process to ensure everything runs smoothly on the big day.

Partial Planners: If you're feeling overwhelmed with logistics and coordination, a partial planner can take over the reins of the vendor hunt and detailed scheduling.

Budget Management Tips

A long engagement means more time for your financial plans to evolve, perhaps even creating room for grander ideas. However, it's vital to keep tabs on the budget to avoid overspending.

Keep an Evolving Budget Worksheet: As you make decisions and bookings, update your budget tracker to reflect expenses accurately.

Prioritize Your Expenses: Allocate a larger portion of your budget to elements that are most important to you and your partner.

Anticipate Changes: Unexpected expenses or changes in guest count can impact your overall budget. Plan for these contingencies by setting aside a buffer.

Stress Management Techniques

For a Type A bride, wedding planning can be a pathway to perfection-induced stress. Here's how to manage it:

Take Breaks: Set aside specific "no planning" times to give yourself mental rest. Over-planning can lead to decision fatigue.

Delegate When Possible: Friends and family are often eager to help. Share the load by assigning tasks to trusted loved ones.

Revisit Your 'Why': Go back to your vision and the reasons why you're getting married. This grounding exercise can refocus your energy on what truly matters.

Community Recommendations

The greatest wisdom often comes from those who have walked the path before you. Engage with the wedding community to receive advice, support, and perhaps make lifelong friends.

Online Forums: Join platforms specifically for brides planning long engagements and engage with the discussions.

Local Wedding Expos: Attend expos and showcases to meet vendors, see samples, and get a feel for what your local wedding scene can offer.

Support Groups: Whether online or in person, connecting with those in a similar planning stage can provide a wealth of relevant advice.

Conclusion

In the end, remember that the wedding is just one day in a lifetime of shared moments with your partner. Don't lose sight of the bigger picture. Enjoy the planning process and allow yourself the grace to adapt and change your mind. Your dedication to detail will shine through on your wedding day, but the joy you experience in the lead-up will be equally as memorable. Take it one detail at a time, involve your partner in the decisions, and most importantly, savor each step on this incredible journey to your special day. It'll all be worth it when you finally say, "I do." Happy planning!

Hey there, lovely readers! If you're reading this, chances are you're in the midst of planning your big day and are considering hiring a wedding videographer. And let me tell you, you won't regret it! Trust me, as a professional videographer, I've seen firsthand the joy and emotions that a wedding film can bring to a couple long after their special day is over. But I know that with all the planning and decision making that goes into a wedding, it can be overwhelming to know what to ask and expect from a videographer. So, I've compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions that I get asked and I'm going to do my best to answer them for you.

What is the difference between a wedding videographer and a wedding photographer?

A wedding videographer captures moving images and sound, while a wedding photographer captures still images. Both are important, but they serve different purposes. A wedding film allows you to relive the special moments of your day, such as your first dance, vows and speeches. While, photographs are great for capturing specific moments and memories, but a video allows you to see the entire day unfold.

How long will it take to receive our wedding film?

It depends on the videographer and the package you choose. Typically, it can take anywhere from 12-16 weeks to receive the final film. Some videographers offer a "teaser" or "highlight" film that can be delivered sooner, to give you a sneak peek of your special day.

Can we request certain shots or moments to be captured on our wedding film?

Absolutely! Your wedding film is all about telling your unique love story, so it's important that the videographer knows your specific requests and preferences. Be sure to have a conversation with your videographer about any special moments or shots that you would like included in your film.

How much does a wedding videographer cost?

The cost of a wedding videographer can vary greatly depending on the package and services offered, as well as the location and experience of the videographer. It's important to have a budget in mind, but also keep in mind that a wedding film is an investment that will last a lifetime.

Can we have a copy of all the raw footage?

It depends on the videographer. Some may include this in their package, while others may charge extra for it. Be sure to ask about this in advance and consider if you want the raw footage or just the final edited film.

I hope this answered some of your questions about wedding videography. If you have any other questions or want to know more, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. Remember, hiring a wedding videographer is one of the best decisions you can make to make your wedding day even more special and memorable. Happy planning!

5 Reasons A Wedding Videographer is Worth The Investment

Your wedding day is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and while there are plenty of things you'll want to splurge on, hiring a wedding videographer might not be at the top of your list. But trust us, it's worth the investment! Here are five reasons why hiring a wedding videographer is a no-brainer:

  1. A wedding videographer can capture all the little moments you might miss.

Let's face it, your wedding day is going to be a whirlwind of activity. Between getting ready, walking down the aisle, and dancing the night away, there's a good chance you'll miss some of the special moments that happen throughout the day. A wedding videographer can capture all of those moments for you, so you can relive them for years to come.

2. A wedding video can bring back all the emotions of your big day

Photos are great, but they don't always capture the full scope of your wedding day. A wedding video, on the other hand, can bring back all the emotions of your big day - the tears, the laughter, the love. It's like a time machine that lets you experience all those feelings all over again.

3. A wedding video is a great way to share your special day with loved ones who couldn't be there.

Not everyone can make it to your wedding, whether it's because they're too far away or they have other commitments. A wedding video is a great way to share your big day with those loved ones and include them in the celebration.

4. A wedding video is a lasting memento.

Your wedding day is going to fly by in the blink of an eye, and it can be tough to hold onto all the memories. A wedding video is a tangible reminder of your special day that you can watch and enjoy for years to come.

5. A wedding videographer can create something truly unique and special.

No two weddings are exactly alike, and a wedding videographer can create a video that is as unique and special as your big day. They'll be able to capture the essence of your wedding in a way that photos simply can't.

So don't be afraid to splurge on a wedding videographer - it's an investment that will pay off for years to come.We hope you've come away with a better understanding of the benefits of hiring a professional videographer to capture your big day. If you're feeling inspired and ready to turn your wedding day dreams into a reality, be sure to contact me! I would love to chat with you about your vision for your wedding video and help bring it to life. Talk to you soon!

3 tips for planning your wedding in North Georgia

Congratulations on your engagement! Take all the time you need to let the feelings of love and excitement sink in, you’re in for one of the most special days of your life! Planning for this special day can be stressful, especially when you have absolutely no idea where to start. That’s why I have shared 3 tips for planning your wedding in North Georgia!

I’d be honored to be your wedding photographer and so I’ve also created a PDF guide to assist your wedding day planning. Carry on reading to find out the essentials for planning your wedding and how to download the PDF guide!

The Engagement Session

Now that you’re engaged, you might want to schedule an engagement session to show off you and your future spouse. Being engaged is so exciting, and in this session you can take the time to celebrate with just the both of you (and me as your third wheel). As your photographer, this will also help me get to know you more and make you feel comfortable in front of the camera before the big day!

You will receive around 50 final portraits within 4-8 weeks of your session and these can be used for different aspects of your wedding. You can use the portraits on your wedding website, invitations, displays at your reception and so much more!

Picking Vendors

Everything from wedding attire, hair and makeup professionals, the venue, DJs, florists, caterers, cake designers and the officiant will need to be decided. This will kickstart the official wedding planning as choosing your vendors will help you decide your wedding date and venue, help pick your guest list and keep the big day organised.

Not only will this help kickstart the official wedding planning, it will also help you decide your budget for your wedding. If you are stuck on vendors to choose from, the PDF guide includes various vendors in North Georgia that I would highly recommend!

Wedding timeline

When it’s one month from the day of your wedding, I’ll send you a questionnaire and we can create a timeline for the day right before the ceremony. Having a wedding timeline is very important to ensure that you have dedicated times for taking photographs for each event.

When capturing your big day we’ll consider the amount of time given to each event and travel time in between the events to get everyone set up and ready for photographs. General events that can be included in the timeline are getting ready, the first look, the bridal portraits, the bridal party and family photos. Your wedding will be a day that you’ll want to remember, so let me know if you have any other events that you want to schedule and we’ll fit them in the wedding timeline.

As promised, if you'd like to receive an additional, detailed wedding planning guide, shoot me a DM and I’ll send it straight to your email. This guide includes tips for your engagement session, assembling your wedding timeline, making sure your entire wedding day is captured perfectly as well as contact information for wedding vendors in North Georgia! If you have any more questions about how The Hill’s Media can make your wedding day in North Georgia unforgettable and stress free, fill in this contact form and I'll be back to you within 24 hours!

What is a First Look and why you should include it in your Wedding Schedule

What is a first look you may wonder? A first look is when a couple sees each other for the first time on their wedding day. Traditionally, this happens at the wedding ceremony, however many couples are now choosing to have a more private? A first look beforehand. These make for very intimate and emotional photos as your wedding photographer captures this special moment.

As your big day approaches, you’re probably wondering if you should reserve your first look for the ceremony or include a first look in your wedding timeline!

Here are 3 excellent reasons to have your first look BEFORE your ceremony.

  1. Intimacy

The moment you first see each other on your wedding day can be very emotional. Keeping this as a private moment between the two of you (and your wedding photographer of course!) allows you both to feel what you’re feeling without a whole crowd watching you or the pressure of remaining formal in a ceremony setting.

2. It Saves You Time

By having these beautiful photos of just the two of you before your ceremony, it saves you time afterwards. Once you have photos with your wedding party and family, you can enjoy cocktail hour or reception time with your guests! You’ll be grateful to be able to spend more time with the ones you love and to be able to enjoy a well deserved drink.

3. You Will Both Be Looking Your Best

Your hair is perfect, the outfits are clean and your makeup is fresh. Choosing to have a first look before your ceremony means you will both be looking your absolute best. This makes the photos even more romantic. Whilst the best time for your photos is definitely golden hour (when the sun is setting), by the time you get to them there’s been laughter, tears, hugs, kisses, food and champagne. So even though you will still look spectacular, you definitely won’t be as fresh as just after your hair and makeup artist has applied the finishing touches.

So while a first look is not something that’s traditional, you can see how they make for a beautiful and romantic moment for just the two of you. I’d love to chat more with you about how we can make your wedding timeline the best it can be! Get in touch with me here
